Life has been hectic, with its ups and downs (mostly downs...sigh...), so I haven't really had time to read manga, much less translate it.<br />
<br />
However....<br />
<br />
I have been catching up with Enjouji Maki's new series, SPXBaby, through Icarus's scans <a href="http://icarusbride.blogspot.hk/">over here</a>! I don't know if anyone else has done it so far, but if no one has summarized it yet, I will probably ask her if I may lift some images off her website as thumbnails for me to summarize.<br />
<br />
On the other hand, I recently watched an episode of Kyou wa kaisha yasumimasu...and I fell in love with the storyline. It's so damn relatable and realistic, but with a light splatter of shoujo elements that'll make your heart go kyun kyun at the same time. I've always loved Haruka Ayase and Tamaki Hiroshi, and I think they play these characters to the dime. Which...naturally got me interested in the manga, and I read it <a href="http://raffmanga.ch/manga/kyou-wa-kaisha-yasumimasu/">here at Raffmanga</a>! It's not really a scanlation, but you scroll over each speech bubble to see the translation on the side, which is quite useful. And adding translations are easy.<br />
<br />
The first 7 chapters are translated by a user named Scarlet (and I believe she's working on the 8th at the moment), so I decided to translate chapter 9. I'm not sure if I can do this on a regular basis (it took me over an hour just to translate because of all the adding speech bubbles, saving, website reloading business...ah, if I could only do so all in one go for an entire page), but this manga is really fun to read and I highly recommend it! Ok, the drama too (esp for Tamaki Hiroshi :p)<br />
<br />
Although it's deviates drastically from the drama, I love both of them in their own right. Both of them are funny, genuine, and heart-warming, and they work well for their respective mediums. (Unlike the Korean version of Nodame Cantabile....le sigh)whisperpuppieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01157362237251445012noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2998243661833220877.post-29186107146834341952014-09-15T03:34:00.001-07:002014-09-15T03:35:42.055-07:00Link to new Enjouji Maki's new series: SP X Baby<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Hey guys! Sorry I haven't made an update in forever. I recently just found out that Enjouji Maki has a new series out, and the premise is of a girl becoming a bodyguard to a politician? (Or at least, in the first chapter, it's indicated the main male character's relative is the prime minister)<br />
<br />
Anyways, I haven't been able to find any raws, but I found a wonderful site that does summaries and uploads raws to various series. You can find the first chapter of SP X Baby <a href="http://icarusbride.blogspot.hk/2014/08/raw-sp-x-baby-chapter-1.html">here </a>!<br />

Or just paste this into your browser<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sorry I haven't made a post in ages! I've had to put both this and the food blog on hold for a while because of how busy I'm with work (which while I feel guilty about, I'm also extremely happy that it's because I've finally found a job I love at an amazing company!) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I took the liberty to update the food blog first. This dessert is called Meringue Caramel Epice, which is a concoction of all the basics, like French meringue, whipped cream, and a spiced caramel pastry cream. I've actually bookmarked the recipe for ages but was a bit afraid of trying a spiced dessert (since they remind me of icky Costco fruit cakes). However, a classic dessert called pain d'epice came up in one of the episodes of Shitsuren Chocolatier and I was so intrigued by the idea I finally had to make it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The caramel cream is actually super yummy! I ate it by the spoonful when I ran out of meringue shells to layer it with :) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you're interested in the recipe, <a href="http://matchadippedbaguette.wordpress.com/2014/03/09/meringue-caramel-epice-recipe/">please click here!</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I've also noticed that Dear Brother chapters have come out, so I'll try to make an update tomorrow (as well as read them of course). I've not been checking as regularly since my interest in the story has kinda waned, but hopefully the two latest chapters have some kind of exciting change to them! (Enjouji-sensei, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you'll work your magic)</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
New update! It's been ages since I've written anything for the blog, and feeling a bit guilty for neglecting it, I finally uploaded a recipe of Mt. Blanc. It's one of my favorite desserts to eat year round (but unfortunately I can't get chestnuts year round in the states...), so fall and winter are really the only times I can make it. The top picture is a type of Japanese candied chestnut that leaves the skin on and it's called <i>shibukawani</i> 渋皮煮. It's really delicious (and no the skin doesn't taste stringent or tough anymore after you cook it), but it takes a while to cook and loads of prep work to peel. Sigh...if only I was in Japan, I could just go out and buy a jar!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Anyways, if you're interested, you can read the recipe<a href="http://matchadippedbaguette.wordpress.com/2013/12/26/mt-blanc-tart-with-japanese-unskinned-chestnuts/"> here</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I saw that the newest chapter of Dear Brother has been up, and glanced through it briefly...but unfortunately, it's nothing to be excited about. I'll post the summary up soon as these days are a bit busy.</div>

It’s been ages since I’ve updated the blog, but I finally gritted my teeth and did it. This time it’s about an Indian restaurant in Berkeley that specializes in road-side savory snacks! Before I tried my first Indian salad (pictured below…) I only knew of curry, roti, and paneer.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tDkstLO_SWE/Up1H6cAhe1I/AAAAAAAAA00/a0kDZEtJyKs/s1600/salad1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="422" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tDkstLO_SWE/Up1H6cAhe1I/AAAAAAAAA00/a0kDZEtJyKs/s640/salad1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14.44444465637207px; line-height: 21.111112594604492px; margin-bottom: 10px; outline: none 0px;">

<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14.44444465637207px; line-height: 21.111112594604492px; outline: none 0px;">
But after I had the salad, known as bhel puri, I was in love. It’s spicy and crunchy and tangy and sooo delicious I could eat the salad for days. Like the majority of restaurants in Berkeley, they offer loads of vegan and vegetarian options (so it’s bound to cater to even the most finicky eaters). I only tried 4 things there (there were tons…all with names I cannot pronounce), and they had a lot of sweets behind the glass counter, and everything was really delicious. And the best part? The portions were very generous and the prices were reasonable. I totally forgot about posting the summary because I got so busy...but I promise to up the short soon (not sure if scanlators also did that one for the special issue). Anyways, since chapter 13 is up in Chinese scans, at least you'll get a clearer view instead of my crappy iPhone pictures. And reading the chapter in Japanese has made me realize my mistake! It's supposed to be Arisue instead of Arimatsu, lol. If you want to follow along, click here for the <a href="http://99manga.com/page/14879/143836.htm?v=3*s=12">link</a>. This chapter is shorter than others (because the author did the one-shot special).<br />
<br />
The chapter opens with Momo telling Aoba to hurry so that they can go to the summer festival. Sougo isn't here...because well, he has disappeared for one year without a word to them. Although all the brothers know (Gin&Aoba) that Momo has fallen in love with him, they had never blamed her. Yet she wonders if she hadn't blurted it aloud, whether they would still be living together happily as siblings.<br />
<br />
<i>I now know that I'm not related to all my family members. I'm the child from mom's side and Sougo and Gin are children from my dad's side. Although all of us are related to Aoba by blood, I'm not connected to Sougo or Gin. Still, I'm living with Aoba and Gin, for we still want to live together as siblings. </i><br />
<i><br /></i>
As they walk towards the festival, Aoba comments, "Sougo-niichan even quit the job with that Arisue guy. He could at least tell us what he's doing now."<br />
<br />
"Well well now," replies Momo.<br />
<br />
Aoba has already graduated from university and is now in a special training school to take over the Suzuki family business. Meanwhile Gin is still taking care of all the family things, although Momo is still unclear as to what his real job is.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-gugY3XvFCuY/UlePa9IJkfI/AAAAAAAAAyI/ElBXmsLSoAE/s640/blogger-image--129440063.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-gugY3XvFCuY/UlePa9IJkfI/AAAAAAAAAyI/ElBXmsLSoAE/s640/blogger-image--129440063.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Aoba: Do you still want to see him?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: Of course...but...</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Aoba: But what?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: That's...I don't know how to face him...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
During the past year, Momo has also let her hair grow longer, as a way of wishing to see him again (<i>I did NOT know that letting your hair grow can make your wishes come true... @_@)</i>. Of course, she kept this thought to herself.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
The siblings meet up with Arisue, which Aoba is a bit pissed about, though Momo called him just to have more people join in for fun.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Aoba: Why on earth are you here?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: It's more fun watching fireworks with more people.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: What she said, otouto-kun.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Aoba: You have no right to call me brother.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue (to Momo): Let's just leave the fireworks and walk around here by ourselves.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Aoba: You go away! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: You know...I may become your brother in the future.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Aoba: No way! I only have two brothers!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
When they finally find Gin, who was holding a viewing spot for them, Gin asks where Sakura is.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
After the whole incident with Sakura finding out that Sougo was living with Momo, she had completely ignored Momo's existence, only speaking to her when work necessitates it. But after Momo told her about her feelings for Sougo, they developed a strange type of rapport, not that Momo would call it friendship.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo calls Sakura, but it seems she has gotten a bit lost. Gin volunteers to pick her up while Aoba helps them hold their viewing spot. Arisue and Momo are sent off to buy drinks.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: You hair grew out quite long.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: Yeah, I haven't cut it since and somehow it has already become this long.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: Even though you look nice like this, isn't it time to cut it? It's been a year already...since you've got your heart broken. Generally...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: So you noticed...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: Yeah, I thought so, since Honda-san left a year ago.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: But! Even though I fell out of love..and even though he left because I wasn't good enough...he didn't tell me he hated me or anything. He still loves me as a sibling and I him, so somehow I don't feel like I've completely fallen out of love.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: I see...so it's not a clean break, which is why you can't let go. I can volunteer to become your new love interest!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: Haha...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: But I don't understand why he was so stubborn about it when he already knew that he wasn't related to you by blood. Even if you guys were to go out, it's not like society will look down on your relationship. From what I see, I think Honda-san's feelings for you surpasses that for a sister. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: ...but he still sees me as nothing but a sister.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: Well...I don't have any siblings so maybe I don't really understand. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Once the two get to the convenience store, Momo finds a little lost boy. She asks Arisue to take care of the shopping while she goes with him to the lost & found center.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rQl37Obnplg/UowTe-RtmTI/AAAAAAAAAy4/LfhnDldsjLw/s1600/jmydm0019-87339.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rQl37Obnplg/UowTe-RtmTI/AAAAAAAAAy4/LfhnDldsjLw/s640/jmydm0019-87339.JPG" width="430" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo feels like she's holding onto a small version of Sougo as she leads the boy to the center. Meanwhile, Gin is on the phone with someone as he walks around.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Gin: Eh? You got lost? How can a local like you get lost? You've always been completely directionless. Try and recall from your memories when you were small.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
As Gin walks around, he finds Sakura, and hurriedly he tells the other person on the phone to find his way through. Meanwhile, Momo hadn't realized that the lost & found center was that far, and ended up being washed away by the crowd of people. As she makes her way through, she stumbles onto a temple, one that the four of them used to play at when they were little. She's alarmed by some rustling in the bush, but finds that it's just a couple who decided to mess around (i.e. making out) in front of the temple. She decides to go ahead and make a wish since she's already here, and she wishes to meet Sougo again. When she hears rustling again, she turns around ready to scold someone, only to find Sougo asking her for directions </div>

<b>Chapter 14</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Momo?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Sougo-niichan, why are you here?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The fireworks go off in the background.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Looks like they've already started. Why are you here?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: That's because...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo thinks, "<i>That's not what I wanted to ask. What should I do? How should I face him? This is too sudden, my heart isn't ready. Or rather, I don't have the courage."</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Meanwhile, Arisue gets tired of waiting and calls Momo to ask her where she is. She tells him that she bumped into a little trouble, but Arisue hears Sougo's voice in the background. Meanwhile, Gin also calls Sougo and tells him to hurry for the fireworks have already started. After they both hang up, Sougo tells Momo that it was actually Gin who invited him along, and that he has moved back into the area. He shows her the map that he got for going to the viewing area, but still somehow got lost. Momo relaxes and laughs at how directionless he is, but she pauses and the awkward air between them resumes again.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Say...I thought you looked different. You grew your hair out, didn't you?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Eh? Yeah, I wanted to change my image. Does it look weird?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: No. I think it looks good on you.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Which, of course freaks Momo out since she still has feelings for him. Desperate to dissolve the atmosphere, she tells him to hurry to the viewing area since everyone is waiting. And of course, she trips on her sandals and sprains her foot (<i>Sheez, can this manga be less shoujo like? Why do the girls always have to trip?</i>)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo offers to piggyback her back to where their siblings are, but she adamantly refuses.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Do you have a problem?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: I'm...wearing a yukata. It might be a bit difficult.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Then should I carry you bridal style?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: No, not that either!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Then should I just throw you over the shoulder like a rice bag? Like that time when you had a fever.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Rice bag?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Stop being picky, you're only going to embarrass yourself.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Finally Momo hops onto his back, and buries her face down in shame.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: You don't have to be that embarrassed, it's not like the first time I've carried you.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Even so, this is different from when we were small.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Sougo: True...you are definitely heavier.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: Well, sorry about that!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NQAUtVvxTzA/UowYfAHtZTI/AAAAAAAAAzQ/y4AxajACbKM/s1600/jmydm0016-99781.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NQAUtVvxTzA/UowYfAHtZTI/AAAAAAAAAzQ/y4AxajACbKM/s640/jmydm0016-99781.JPG" width="428" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Sougo: I used to carry you back home all the time when you and Aoba have tired yourselves out playing. Even though Gin was older and bigger than me, you always fussed about having me carry you. That's right...you were heavy back then too.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: I said sorry!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Sougo: Even though I don't know why, I knew when you were calling for me when you called for onii-chan, and not Gin. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: Sougo-niichan...I want us to be brother and sister again. I know I may not be able to completely feel that way again, but I don't want you to worry about me anymore. So please, please reject me here (as a lover). I think that if you do,, things can go back to the way they were.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Sougo: I actually accepted Gin's invitation tonight because I wanted to see you. When I left home one year ago, I felt it was the best way for us. But now that I think about it, I was simply escaping. So I wanted to clear things up with you here. I've regretted this one year, Momo.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6gNE_DbP7R8/UowZhAsEIEI/AAAAAAAAAzY/lmhmVNg8OEw/s1600/jmydm0021-16880.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6gNE_DbP7R8/UowZhAsEIEI/AAAAAAAAAzY/lmhmVNg8OEw/s640/jmydm0021-16880.JPG" width="422" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: I'm really sorry that I can't return your feelings.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xkdi89y-gzM/UowZr_QxzrI/AAAAAAAAAzg/WX32bjxT2A8/s1600/jmydm0022-69464.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xkdi89y-gzM/UowZr_QxzrI/AAAAAAAAAzg/WX32bjxT2A8/s640/jmydm0022-69464.JPG" width="430" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Sougo: But don't misunderstand. I still treasure you a lot. I'll do anything for your happiness.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo (crying slightly): ...Mhm.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
They bump into Arisue when they walk back, and Sougo lets Momo down so that Arisue can lead her back. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: Aren't you going to see the fireworks too?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Sougo: That was my intention, but I've already reached my goal.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: Your goal...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue finally notices that Momo is crying.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: Hey, what's wrong?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: We just cleared things up...he rejected me. I've now officially fallen out of love.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue (to Sougo): What on earth do you think you're doing?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: Wait, Arisue-san...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: I'm really angry now. (<i>to Momo</i>) Keep quiet for a moment. (<i>to Sougo</i>) Even though we aren't coworkers anymore, do you remember the time when you asked if I had ever made Momo cry? And then you come along after a year, and you've already made her cry! How can you call yourself her brother?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: Stop it, don't say anymore Arisue-san! I was the one who asked Sougo-niichan for an answer. He did it for me because I wanted to become his sister again! Only with this can I move forward. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: But...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Sougo: Like you said, even though I call myself her brother, I don't even have the ability to make her smile. I have nothing more to say.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: You think you can get away like that?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Sougo: That's not what I meant.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo (<i>grabs onto Arisue</i>): Sougo-niichan, don't you remember that Arisue-san asked me out a year ago too? He has been waiting for me this whole year, and now that Sougo-niichan has come out tonight, I can finally give his proposal consideration.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zZ-pDr-Fxxc/Uowbr_lKntI/AAAAAAAAAzs/kYtzCRM69fY/s1600/jmydm0030-18993.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zZ-pDr-Fxxc/Uowbr_lKntI/AAAAAAAAAzs/kYtzCRM69fY/s640/jmydm0030-18993.JPG" width="430" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: So you don't need to worry about me anymore. Arisue-san, I'm afraid I need some help walking, do you mind lending me your arm?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cM5_ZgcnfSA/Uowclb01HSI/AAAAAAAAAz0/WEg73IB1wEQ/s1600/jmydm0031-11314.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cM5_ZgcnfSA/Uowclb01HSI/AAAAAAAAAz0/WEg73IB1wEQ/s640/jmydm0031-11314.JPG" width="440" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: Hey, let me down! I'm going to fall!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: I won't drop you. (<i>to Sougo</i>) Then I'll take her off your hands. Bye, Sougo-niichan.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5wQMHuaXGYU/Uowc1gCjb2I/AAAAAAAAAz8/HZX_1xDDyV8/s1600/jmydm0032-23739.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5wQMHuaXGYU/Uowc1gCjb2I/AAAAAAAAAz8/HZX_1xDDyV8/s640/jmydm0032-23739.JPG" width="428" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Though hesitant, he turns away, but not before Momo sees his reaction.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
After walking a while, Arisue switches to piggybacking her (because he isn't strong enough to carry her with his arms only the whole way through, :D)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: I've never seen you so angry before.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: I can get mad too! What am I like in your eyes? Of course I don't really care about most things, but I don't really like Honda-sensei. I've told you before how nice he is to his clients before, but the Honda-sensei now really annoys me. He doesn't even care that he's made such an important person to him unhappy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: I told you that I had asked him to. And plus, you're not in a position to say anything. I bet you've made tons of girls cry.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo thinks, "<i>There's no way that he doesn't care. I've hurt him so deeply and saw his reaction. It's all my fault. From now on, I can't hurt him anymore.</i>"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4wCuUibhwm8/UoweOIzwtVI/AAAAAAAAA0I/6rxs2U6AJ9Q/s1600/jmydm0036-88429.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4wCuUibhwm8/UoweOIzwtVI/AAAAAAAAA0I/6rxs2U6AJ9Q/s640/jmydm0036-88429.JPG" width="430" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: Anyways, I'm sorry to use you as a shield. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: Eh? A shield? I thought you were being honest!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: Eh? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: Ah...ha ha...forget it. I was looking forward to this chance to ask you what I did a year ago anyways. Will you go out with me? You said you wanted to move forward. I think I may be able to help.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo:..... I'll think about it earnestly. Thank you.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Arisue: No problem.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Back home, Aoba is bandaging up Momo's foot, and he laments how the fireworks would have been more fun had they called Sougo. Of course, Aoba hadn't known that Momo had already met up with Sougo. Gin tells him that he actually called Sougo out, but he got lost on the way. Momo feels guilty because she has robbed Aoba his chance away of seeing Sougo, although it wasn't his fault at all. Just when Momo is about to apologize...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Aoba: You must tell me things like that from now on.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Gin: Sorry sorry! Hey, how about I organize a get together for the four of us?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Aoba: Eh? But would Sougo-niichan really come?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Gin: I'll think of something. Momo, it's been a year already, are you ok now?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Momo: Um...yeah.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Gin: Ok, I'll go contact Sougo then.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Inside, Momo repeatedly tells herself, "<i>It'll be alright. I'll be able to face him directly.</i>)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
PHEW! Super long summary, but you guys deserved it for being soo patient! Job hunting really sucks...I'm so lost about the future. Scratch that, I don't even feel like I have one anymore. Sigh...</div>

Blanc Recipe<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bS-r092ds4E/Unr9JHeLqiI/AAAAAAAAAyo/Tl6lrFp1_E0/s1600/finished.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="422" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bS-r092ds4E/Unr9JHeLqiI/AAAAAAAAAyo/Tl6lrFp1_E0/s640/finished.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Finally finished writing/translating the recipe for Pumpkin Mt. Blanc! I haven't posted in forever because I was extremely busy (and it's only continuing to be more so), but felt really guilty of not contributing to the food blog I have with my friends. So here's something to share just in time for the holidays! The layers are pumpkin cream and whipped cream on top of a matcha cake roll filled with adzuki beans. And there's a sugar crust hiding underneath too! If you feel like trying something for Thanksgiving besides pumpkin pie, this is it!<br />
<br />
The recipe looks really long, but it actually isn't. There's a lot of waiting time (for the crust mainly), but it's super delicious. I had consumed like 7-8 of these things by myself.<br />
<br />

Kebabs in Europe~<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4WhZmjeS5-I/Um8ycXOcTZI/AAAAAAAAAyY/HgEKCZ83LF4/s1600/kebab.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="315" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4WhZmjeS5-I/Um8ycXOcTZI/AAAAAAAAAyY/HgEKCZ83LF4/s400/kebab.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
This time it's a different type of post, travel & food packed into one! And if you're in France, I hope you find this, because it sounds absolutely fricking amazing. I never knew that kebabs were a popular street food in Europe...(I would have guessed that every country had its specialty, but hey what do I know) If you're interested, <a href="http://matchadippedbaguette.wordpress.com/2013/10/28/street-food-saga-kebabs-on-cobblestone-paths/">click here</a> to read it!<br />
<br />
I apologize for the dearth of updates for the manga. Things have been really harsh lately and I get depressed, angry, and sad all at the same time. (No I'm not turning emo, but finding a full time job is hard and the current one makes me hate myself and everything I do all the time. It's just been very stressful). I promise to do an update soon when Chapter 14 comes out, so it'll be a double post. But for those who're curious about Chapter 13 (which is shortened because the author did that special), Sougo had left for an entire year without contacting the siblings. When Momo, Gin, and Aoba go to the summer festival, Momo gets lost and winds up stumbling upon a shrine that she remembers from childhood. She makes a wish, and when she turns around, she bumps into Sougo.whisperpuppieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01157362237251445012noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2998243661833220877.post-91984863578837506202013-10-04T17:07:00.001-07:002013-10-04T17:07:22.696-07:00Food Blog Update: Mt. <span style="font-family: inherit;">I finally finished writing the recipe for Mt. Blanc and updated the blog! Mt. Blanc is one of my favorite desserts in the world, and in fact, I tend to always order one if I’m picking up pastries in Japan or Hong Kong (among my five or six desserts). Sadly, it’s not so readily available in the States, and I have to wait for chestnuts to be in season to have any Mt. Blanc at all...which generally leaves me on choice but to make one.</span></div>

New post on food blog! This time it’s about a chain of mochi shops from Japan (they only have a few locations outside of the country, and luckily one of them is in Bay Area). Unlike traditional mochi with just plain old red bean paste, they have flavors like chocolate banana, mango, strawberry short cake, melon, sweet potato, bluberry yogurt, caramel pudding, and more! </div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14.44444465637207px; line-height: 21.111112594604492px; margin-bottom: 10px; outline: none 0px;">
I ordered 8 mochis and 3 mochido’s (mochi in donut form) for myself, and while not all of them were delicious, I really liked how soft and fluffy each were. I’m glad I don’t live near the mochi shop (it’s one hour drive away) or else I would find myself visiting every day for a box…and would probably balloon to the size of an airship!</div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14.44444465637207px; line-height: 21.111112594604492px; outline: none 0px;">

The "family secret" wasn't that exciting...I would actually say it's rather commonplace- but if you guessed that Momo and Sougo are not related, then you're correct! Anyways...on with the summary (or more like page by page line by line translation~ I've found that my summaries are getting less and less summary-like as I write). By the way, italics are Momo's thoughts (and yes, those are directly translated too!)<br />
<br />
Starting from the last chapter...<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Meanwhile at home, Gin had already sit Aoba down for a talk about what Aoba overheard. Once the two return home, Aoba is relieved to see Sougo back, but Sougo turns away. Later that night, Sougo seeks Gin, telling him that he wants to move out for a while.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gin: Is it...because of that child from the Honda family? And of the complications with Momo?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: There's that too. But before I move out, please don't tell Aoba or Momo.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gin: Wait! Can't we talk this out? Didn't we say that we have to help Momo find her happiness together?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Of course, but that doesn't necessarily mean we have to live together.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gin: Why...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Sorry. I can't help nii-san to realize your dream of living together in this home.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
On another day after work, Gin goes out to meet Momo at a cafe to talk.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gin: I see...so Honda-san didn't go to work then.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Yea...I don't think she wants to see me. Maybe we just have to wait for time to pass, then...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gin: About that Momo...Sougo says he wants to move out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
Momo: When...when did he say he wanted to move out?<br />
<br />
Gin: He said soon. I wanted to know what happened between you and Sougo.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Y6KkZwfxIbs/UkT7NLxlgdI/AAAAAAAAAq8/ZdBxnH2JMRA/s1600/jmydm0012-79951.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Y6KkZwfxIbs/UkT7NLxlgdI/AAAAAAAAAq8/ZdBxnH2JMRA/s640/jmydm0012-79951.JPG" width="430" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Sorry..it's my fault. Sorry...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gin: So.....you...confessed to him....</div>
<br />
Momo: You must be disgusted by me...<br />
<br />
Gin: Eh? No...not that...I'm just surprised. Momo, what do you want to do?<br />
<br />
Meanwhile at home, Aoba finds a leaflet for a summer festival and goes find Sougo, who's packing.<br />
<br />
Aoba: Look at this! Isn't this the festival we went to when we were small? I still remember that I dropped my sandals in the river, and mom and dad scolded you guys a lot afterwards. It's next Sunday, let's go together?<br />
<br />
Sougo: That's right...<br />
<br />
When Aoba sees his bags, he asks Sougo if he's going on a business trip, to which Sougo vaguely says yes. Momo and Gin come back, and Aoba quickly shows Momo the leaflet, but she's in no mood to entertain him. When Momo sees the bags on the floor, she directly confronts Sougo.<br />
<br />
Momo: So I heard you're moving out?<br />
<br />
Aoba: Huh?<br />
<br />
Sougo: ...did nii-san tell you?<br />
<br />
Momo: Don't try to hide this from us and then disappear without a word. Even though I have no right to stop you, if you leave before I've settled down then...<br />
<br />
Sougo: Momo...<br />
<br />
Aoba: Just wait a minute!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Aoba: What...? Why are you moving out? So are you choosing the Honda family and that sister over us? Or do you like living with siblings you've already lived with for a few years better?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Gin (<i>slaps Aoba</i>): Aoba! You idiot, you have to know when's the appropriate time to say things and when to shut up.<br />
<br />
Sougo: Enough, nii-san. Since now that it's out in the open, I can only say I can't become a true family with you guys.<br />
<br />
Gin: Sougo! Don't you get started too.<br />
<br />
Momo: Everyone...what are you guys talking about? I don't understand a word...<br />
<br />
Gin: We're children from both sides of the family. When we were little, our father remarried our mother. Sougo and I are both kids from our father's side, and Momo is from our mother's side. Aoba is the only one who's from both our mom and dad. That's to say, Sougo and I and you are both only half-related to Aoba. But...Sougo and I have absolutely no blood ties with Momo.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Aoba: Momo...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: I'm fine..but excluding Aoba, have Gin-niisan and Sougo-niisan always known?</div>
<br />
Sougo: Yea...<br />
<br />
Momo: I..see...sorry, I want to be by myself for a bit.<br />
<br />
Sougo: Momo...<br />
<br />
Aoba: Do you care?<br />
<br />
Sougo: You're right Aoba. I'm sorry for being half-hearted. Since tomorrow's an off-day, I'll finish packing and leave.<br />
<br />
Aoba: Do whatever you want.<br />
<br />
As each turn to leave the room, Gin happens on a very crumpled up leaflet on the floor. Meanwhile, Momo reflects on what just happened.<br />
<br />
<i>I've already lost everything. Even that little right, that right to call him my sibling has disappeared. But Sougo-niisan knew from the start. He didn't reject me because we were related. It doesn't even matter who I am...he'll still reject me. Although Sakura-san told me that she was only my replacement, I'm not sure what she was replacing...since I'm not even his true sister. If I were to sleep, can I turn all of this back? Back to the time where we were all naive...who can help me turn back time?</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>Who's there? Please don't disturb me...I only want to sleep. Don't wake me...</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When Momo wakes up the next morning, she rushes to the kitchen to ask Gin where Sougo is, to which he replies that Sougo had just left. Gin asks if Momo brought the leaflet back, and Aoba asks if it wasn't Gin who did, but Gin denies too. It turns out that Sougo was the one who did...and that perhaps he had wanted all of them to go to the summer festival in the first place. Realizing that, Aoba and Momo dash out to find Sougo before he boards the train. All the way, Momo's blaming herself for confessing, for if she hadn't done so, they would all be happily at the festival next week. Not knowing which platform Sougo would be boarding on, they run wildly through the station calling out his name, and discover him on an opposing platform.</div>

Actually, I am rather depressed by one of them still...sometimes it drives me to the corner with dark thoughts about my future. I just saw that chapter 12 is out, so I'll do my best to update tomorrow! (The delay is unfortunately caused by work and early waking hours when no one should be forced to wake up at, otherwise I would have done it right now~) Look forward to it, and a new food blog update too about this scrummy Japanese mochi place (where they ship all their fabulous wacky flavored mochi directly from their factory in Gunma) in the Bay Area.whisperpuppieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01157362237251445012noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2998243661833220877.post-59791027329033088262013-09-15T22:32:00.002-07:002013-09-15T22:32:29.529-07:00Food Blog Update: Kappou Gomi<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Hungry yet? Or dareIsay...jealous yet?? I went to this Japanese restaurant with my mum last week, and I was really excited about it because it served real Japanese food. Not your typical fare of crunchy rolls, teriyaki chicken, bento combination boxes with salad and miso dressing- but true dishes (some homecooked fare, and some restaurant staples). I admit I've turned a bit snobbish about food after my trips to Japan and have been avoiding fanciful sushi rolls like the plague, so this was like finding a treasure.<br />
<br />
Food-wise, it was alright. The seafood steamed egg custard pictured above was the star of the show- it was so addicting, I would have been content to eat only that and order 10 of them. I really loved their ochazuke too! Price-wise, it's kinda expensive (I only had no qualms about it because I was treating my mum...and the bill came out to $110 with tips), but then again, I ordered 8 dishes and was positively stuffed at the end! Service-wise....I only wished I didn't have that chubby waitress, who was the most horrendous server I've ever encountered, rude and unhelpful. I envied all the other patrons who had the warm and polite Japanese waitresses...but no ranting here (I saved it on the food blog). And also because of this one particular scene where I'm not sure if Momo confessed to Sougo or not...but I'm finally getting a bit excited for this series (although it was nothing like Hapi Mari though where I hung onto all the beginning chapters eager to see how it turned out). Anyways, here we go!</i><br />
<br />
The chapter picks up where Sakura (Momo's coworker) is desperately shaking Arimatsu for an answer as to where Sougo is. Unsure of the turnout of events, he asks for Sakura's name, to which she answers it's Honda Sakura. Momo hadn't paid particular attention to her last name before because it's such a common last name. But now she sees that Sakura was probably Sougo's adopted sister when he went to live with another family. Arimatsu eventually tells Sakura that Sougo lives with Momo now, and all three of them end up going to Momo's house.<br />
<br />
Momo: Why are you still here Arimatsu-san?<br />
<br />
Arimatsu: I told you before that I wanted to know more about the person I loved. Plus, Honda-sensei told me before that he had a very independent and reliable sister, but I had no idea that things would turn out like this.<br />
<br />
Momo: I see...<br />
<br />
However, Momo clenches her fist as she says this, inwardly comparing herself to Momo and how Sakura is probably the goody type who never causes anyone trouble. She's also jealous of the fact that Sakura had fifteen years to spend with her brother, but she only had little more than memories as a child. Meanwhile, Sakura looks around the house in wonderment.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
Sakura: So this is the house Sougo was born into. When I found out about Komatsu-san's and Sougo's relationship, I was a bit surprised, but I'm glad that Komatsu-san was gracious enough to invite me here.<br />
<br />
Aoba: Why did Sougo leave your house?<br />
<br />
Sakura: Because...of some things...but I want to talk it out with him. I think he'll understand me once we discuss it.<br />
<br />
Meanwhile Momo's dreading the moment that Sougo comes back, because Sakura wants to take Sougo away from her. She knows she doesn't have the right to prevent anything, but she's still annoyed with Sakura, and silently wishes that he doesn't come back. But of course, he does, and Momo's stricken when Sakura hears Sougo back.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sakura: Onii-chan!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Sa..Sakura?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Inwardly Momo's seething that she calls him by his first name, and she doesn't want him to meet her either. <i>(Note: It's usually a very intimate thing to do to call someone by their first name in Japanese without any honorific whatsoever- usually reserved for really good friends, family, and lovers, which is why Momo's annoyed.)</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Why are you here? </div>
<br />
Sakura: I happen to be Momo's acquaintance. Thank goodness. You look well, I really missed you!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C3nzDYsdvsk/UjU6n1ebr_I/AAAAAAAAAn4/b0lc2ajungk/s1600/99770_0012_74771.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C3nzDYsdvsk/UjU6n1ebr_I/AAAAAAAAAn4/b0lc2ajungk/s640/99770_0012_74771.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sakura: I was searching for you all the time...I was so worried...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo reflects that she can understand Sakura's feelings, but at the same time she still hates the situation.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Sakura, let's go outside.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sakura: Eh?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: It's not convenient to speak here. Nii-san, I'm going to head out to the family restaurant nearby for a while.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As Sakura leaves, she apologizes for causing all the trouble.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo thinks, "<i>What trouble? This is Sougo-niichan's home. He should be here.</i>"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
She turns back to Arimatsu, "So you think this is amusing, don't you?"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Arimatsu: No, but you don't have to put on a facade.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Aoba: She...plans on taking Sougo-niichan back home.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: If Sougo really returns to the Honda family, if he really decides to, there's not much I can do about it. Because Sakura-san's the same as me. She just wants to see her brother.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gin: Silly, Sougo won't leave you for her.</div>
<br />
Momo bursts into tears and looks to Gin for comfort, and he tells Aoba to take her upstairs so she could calm down. Meanwhile, Arimatsu wonders why Momo had cried when Gin said something but not when he did, to which Gin answers, "It's probably because we're siblings. Of course though, she's especially stubborn about Sougo."<br />
<br />
Arimatsu: I know. But can those without blood relation still be called siblings?<br />
<br />
At the restaurant...<br />
<br />
Sakura: Nii-san, although many things have happened, time has already watered it down. Do you have any plans on coming back home? Dad and mom are worried about you. I know about your and Momo's situation now, but nii-san is still under the Honda family registry. We are your family who have always lived together.<br />
<br />
Sougo: Family...?<br />
<br />
Sakura (clasps her hands in delight): So you're going to return to us with me being a family? Really? Of course, after that incident, I already went out with a lot of other people. I'm not the same as before, and I won't make you feel awkward anymore. Although...I still think nii-san is still the most gentle person in the world.<br />
<br />
Back at home, Momo notices that it has started to rain heavily, and frantically rushes out the door with umbrellas to take to Sougo before Aoba could beat her to it. After Momo dashes off, Aoba notices that Arimatsu is still inside the house for some reason talking to Gin behind the door (and is more than ready to kick him out). And of course, he overhears something he isn't supposed to.<br />
<br />
Gin: You say that you want to know more about the person you like, but even so, I want to ask you to refrain from stepping into our affairs to much. But just like you said, we don't have any blood relation to each other.<br />
<br />
At the restaurant...<br />
<br />
Sougo: Let's each go back then.<br />
<br />
Sakura; Then about before...<br />
<br />
Sougo: Impossible.<br />
<br />
Sakura: Why? I already...<br />
<br />
Sougo" You haven't changed, and besides, I have a promise to keep. I have to look after her until she attains happiness.<br />
<br />
Momo reaches the restaurant just in time with umbrellas as they're both exiting. When Sakura sees Momo, she says, "Komatsu-san, I hadn't noticed for the past ten years....that I was only a replacement for you."<br />
<br />
Sakura dashes off in tears, and Momo asks Sougo to go chase after her, to which Sougo denies.<br />
<br />
Sougo: It won't help.<br />
<br />
Momo: Why won't it help? Isn't Sakura-san your sister too? And you've lived together for so long.<br />
<br />
Sougo: Why? Why are you speaking for her?<br />
<br />
Momo: Because...I've always identified with Sakura's feelings, the feelings of longing for family. You don't understand how much she misses you. How can you be so cold to her when you know that I hold the same feelings?<br />
<br />
Sougo: It's completely different!<br />
<br />
Momo: What do you mean? Why?<br />
<br />
Sougo: Do you want me to go back to the Honda family then?<br />
<br />
Momo: That's not what I meant.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: She's not the same as you, because she holds romantic feelings for me. No matter how long we live together, we can never be true siblings.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-M8ABmFYe0hw/UjU_o-H4gGI/AAAAAAAAAoM/EuKp9DM1vtE/s1600/99770_0031_73937.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-M8ABmFYe0hw/UjU_o-H4gGI/AAAAAAAAAoM/EuKp9DM1vtE/s640/99770_0031_73937.JPG" width="430" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo thinks, <i>"Then the reason Sakura-san fought with Sougo was because of..."</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Why did dad have to pass away that day?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Eh?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Thinking about it now, it wasn't as if I liked the idea of going to another person's house. I didn't want to separate with my family either. That time I didn't know how to continue on living, but then I met her. I decided to treat her well from then on, and the reason why I didn't write to you anymore was also because of her. But in the end, she was just a replacement for you.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Nii-chan, so you don't like Sakura-san?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Of course not. But I don't hate her either. It's not her fault, it's mine. I was chasing after your shadow in her, and lost sight of her as her own person. In the end, I couldn't give her anything. And our relationship also froze as a result.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Of course, inside Momo's thinking how much more similar she and Sakura-san is after she hears Sougo's story.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Anyways, let's stop the conversation here and head back. You don't have to worry about it, because there isn't anything you can do.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: But I'm so jealous of Sakura-san!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: I heard from Arimatsu-san. When you were talking to him about your "sister", you were referring to Sakura-san, right? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: That was before our reunion.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: You said your "sister' was hardworking...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Enough, let's go back.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: I don't care if she's a replacement for me or not, but she was the one acting as your sister all along. I only have a few memories with you when we were children, but she spent fifteen years with you.</div>

<i>And that's it guys! Phew, I haven't done page by page summaries in a loong time. Hope you enjoyed reading! I'm still waiting for a call from the bookstore for an issue of my magazine (which should have both chapter 13 and the one-shot by Enjouji Mari), so hopefully I can get my hands on both before the scanning groups online get to it. The one thing I really regret is not reading this series in Japanese, so I've been inwardly translating either niichan or niisan depending on how I think the characters would address each other. I've been dropping my novels (not the Hapi Mari ones, but some Japanese novels I picked up a year ago), so I feel like my Japanese is getting rusty.</i></div>

After shamefully neglecting to update last week, I finally found time to finish the post this week. I had almost decided not to write about the restaurant because my notes had disappeared from my iphone (recently I found out that if yahoo mail is connected to your notes in the phone, it annoyingly removes that note and archives it to your email instead and you would have to access it from the desktop version and not on your phone). Anyways, this restaurant is located in SF, and it’s a comfortable 25 min walk from the Bart station. My friend and I took the bus there first so we could make our reservation, but the walk is perfect afterwards because the meal is super filling.</div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px; outline: none 0px;">
Ambiance wise, it’s nice both for dates and friends. The food wasn’t perfect, although I did really like their bread and banana creme brulee, but the servers are really nice and patient and the service is excellent (so much so I that I left a hefty tip…which I <em style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); box-sizing: border-box; outline: none 0px;"><strong style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); box-sizing: border-box; outline: none 0px;">never</strong></em> do). I called the bookstore to help me reserve a copy, so hopefully it won't take like 3 weeks to get here.<br />

This looks so cute...shame it'll only be a one-shot. And finally, we get a slightly non-Hokuto looking character...just slightly. The chapter starts with Gin and Aoba examining the scratches on Momo's face, which she doesn't cover up because she doesn't want to put any cosmetics on her wound. Sougo, who just entered the dining room, also is alarmed, but Gin tells him not to worry since it's a shallow wound that will heal soon. Sougo doesn't seem to be in high spirits, and as he leaves the house for work, he tells Momo that he'll help her reject Arimatsu. She tells him that he doesn't have to, but he insists.<br />
<br />
Aoba: He's still stubborn as always.<br />
<br />
Gin: Leave him alone, he's always like that. He'll probably never change.<br />
<br />
At work, Momo tells Sakura (Momo's coworker) what happened at home.<br />
<br />
Sakura: I thought you always got along well with your siblings.<br />
<br />
Momo: Yea, but we get into fights sometimes too.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
Sakura (mistaking the scabs on her knees and face for something else): And so you take up knives because of that?<br />
<br />
Momo (wondrous): Do they look like knife wounds?<br />
<br />
Sakura: But that's nice, it feels like a happy family.<br />
<br />
Momo: Even with these wounds?<br />
<br />
Sakura: Because if you were alone, there wouldn't even be someone to fight with.<br />
<br />
Momo reflects back on what Sakura told her, about how her own brother ran away from home. She sympathizes with Sakura because she feels the same emptiness inside from time to time, and they're the ones left to chase after their family.<br />
<br />
Momo: If you don't mind, please come over to our house sometime. Everyone would be happy to have such a cute guest like Sakura-san.<br />
<br />
Sakura: Alright, I'll take you up on your offer next time.<br />
<br />
In another cafe somewhere, Sougo asks Arimatsu to forget about his sister, but Arimatsu mistakens it as Sougo being nosy and juding himself to not be a suitable candidate for his sister. Sougo denies it however.<br />
<br />
Arimatsu: Enough! It's only because you don't think I'm suitable. I'll take care of things by myself. She told me that she was happy spending time with me. But you should really do something about your sister complex. She'll become another man's wife someday. Do you really think you can keep poking around in her life then?<br />
<br />
Sougo: Sister complex...? I don't have one. She's...<br />
<br />
Sougo remembers the conversation he had with Gin earlier right after Momo's accident. When Gin had asked Sougo if he knew something, Sougo replied that he at least knows that Momo isn't their blood-related sister.<br />
<br />
Gin: So...you know...<br />
<br />
Sougo: But I still plan on taking care of her like I am now. That won't change, and I think nii-chan is thinking the same, right?<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Back to the cafe...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Saying that I have a sister complex is stepping over the line. But then again, I don't expect you to understand my actions, even if I were to explain them to you.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Arimatsu: ...whatever, just don't poke into it anymore. Even if you were her brother, you have no right to mind such things.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: I'll back off, but you better not force her either. If you hurt her in any way, I'll not forgive you.</div>
<br />
Later that night, as Momo and Sakura get off work and decide to go for drinks, Arimatsu goes to bug Momo.<br />
<br />
Momo: Hasn't my brother told you already?<br />
<br />
Arimatsu: This has nothing to do with your brother.<br />
<br />
Sakura: Komatsu-san, is this your boyfriend?<br />
<br />
Momo: No way!<br />
<br />
Arimatsu: Eh, you last name is Komatsu?<br />
<br />
Momo: Yes...<br />
<br />
Arimatsu: Why isn't the same as your brother? I thought you were Honda Momo.<br />
<br />
Sakura, seeing it may take a while, decides to leave the two first.<br />
<br />
Momo (calling after Sakura): Wait, I still want to go get drinks with you! (to Arimatsu) It's all your fault! Didn't I reject you already?<br />
<br />
Arimatsu: Honda-sensei may have rejected me, but I didn't hear it from your mouth.<br />
<br />
Sakura slows a bit on hearing Arimatsu's words.<br />
<br />
Momo: I already told you! I told you there was someone that I liked! Fine then listen up now! You're only chasing after me because I didn't fall in love with you. You're making this into a game that you want to win.<br />
<br />
Arimatsu: And why would you think that?<br />
<br />
Momo: Because you're handsome and are used to receiving attention from girls.<br />
<br />
Arimatsu: Then you should just fall in love with me. I may give up if you do so.<br />
<br />
Momo: What nonsense is that? You lawyers only know how to twist logic!<br />
<br />
Arimatsu: Eh? Isn't your brother a lawyer too?<br />
<br />
Momo (angry): He wouldn't do something like that!<br />
<br />
Sakura leaves a little more quickly after catching that Momo's brother is a lawyer.<br />
<br />
The next few days, Arimatsu keeps on visiting and bothering Momo after work, and she's exasperated and tired at home because of it. Sougo is not much better, and there's a frown on his face every morning. One night, Arimatsu takes a dead-drunk Sougo back home. He explains that Sougo was picked next for duty to defend a person who's suspected of robbery and rape of several women, which was why he probably was so troubled the past few days.<br />
<br />
Arimatsu: Anyone with an ounce of justice in them would be troubled, and Sougo's not the type to slack off because of it. Momo cries on hearing it while Aoba practically shoves him out the door after hearing Momo's thanks. Arimatsu, of course, asks for a date for his favor. As Arimatsu walks home, he wonders if Sougo and Momo are really siblings, since their last names are different and the way they care for each other is uncharacteristic.<br />
<br />
Momo stays with Sougo and strokes his hair while she fusses over him. She wishes that Sougo could have relied on them as family a bit and to tell them of his troubles at work. Sougo wearily wakes a bit.<br />
<br />
Momo: Sougo-niichan! We heard about your next case, and we were really shocked and worried, and know there's nothing we can do either. I know you have the obligation to keep things private, and you probably think it's immature to complain about things at work, but please tell us when you're stuck. Please rely on us.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
Momo: Sougo-niichan always keeps things to himself, overcoming things alone...what reason would there be for us to be here? Aren't we family?<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Sougo-niichan...it's hard to breathe. Let go.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The next morning, Sougo loses his cool at seeing Momo sleep next to him.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Why on earth are you here?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: You were drunk last night and Arimatsu-san...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: What does this have to do with him?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After Momo explains...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: I...see...did I say anything strange?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Nope.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Sougo: Really?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Yes.</div>
<br />
Sougo (blushes): And...umm...I was only half conscious so I wasn't aware it was you...I didn't do anything strange to you, did I? I...<br />
<br />
Momo: Umm...nothing at all...<br />
<br />
Sougo: Good then...<br />
<br />
Momo thinks, "<i>Strange things huh...but even if you did, I wouldn't have rejected. I did...steal a kiss from you last night while you were still asleep. If anything, it was me who did something weird."</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
Sougo struggles to get up, before falling flat across Momo's lap again.<br />
<br />
Sougo: I'm sorry.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: But I'm glad. Because even if you were drunk you could have relied on me. (happily) Plus now we're even. When I was really depressed last time, you slept with me to comfort me too.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: That's not good!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Not good at all! Because you and I are... (walking away) Never mind, I'm going to take a shower. Anyways, I'm sorry.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: You're still wobbling, are you alright?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Yea...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo's left wondering about what Sougo meant to say after "you and I".</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A few weeks later, Arimatsu goes to visit Momo again after work.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Thank you for last time, I haven't seen you in a while.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Arimatsu: That's because I was doing some research. Matsuda Gin. Suzuki Aoba...and Honda Sougo. You guys have different last names after being separated.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Why are you researching something like that? That's private! Where did you...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Arimatsu: In our profession, we have our ways...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: That's abusing authority!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Arimatsu: Yes...but I only wanted to know more about the person I liked.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: That's right, we have different last names (are in different family registries), but we're related by blood.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Arimatsu: Is that so?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: ?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Arimatsu: Take Honda Sougo for example. There's so such person as Komatsu Sougo.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Huh?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sakura (who happens upon the two): Honda Sougo...?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Sakura-san...?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sakura: Did you just say Honda Sougo?</div>

Arimatsu: Who are you?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Update on food blog! I’ve been on a mission to find tea rooms in the Bay Area, simply because having high tea is such a common thing to do back in Hong Kong, except of course…people in HK do it way classier in hotels. There are few tea rooms in the Bay Area that have garnered much interest online, and Lovejoy’s was one of them. To be honest, their food was so-so. The scones were the highlight of my entire meal, super warm and flaky and buttery. However the sandwiches were a bit of a disappointment- they just didn’t compare to Dartealing (also in SF). Next time I’m going, I’ll just order the simple Cream Tea (served with scones), which is way cheaper than the Queen’s Tea that my friend and I ordered (at $26 per person).</span></div>

To be honest I'm really stressed these days about a lot of things...things like finding a full time job, and a bit depressed that no matter how hard I try, I'm still unable to score one. Failed interview one after the other for ones that I want, and having a terrible time to keep commuting 4 hours each day for this one...Heck, even my younger brother has an internship and is faster on the way to building a meaningful career than I am...it's just really shitty. Life isn't the way I thought it to be...and it's hard to have my hopes crushed again and again. Needless to say, I've been feeling quite down...which is why I really didn't have the mood to translate Hapi Mari. I really appreciate those who keep visiting, but at the same time, I ask for others to please be more polite. Yes, the Dear Brother summaries are not entirely exciting, but you don't have to read if you don't want to. I love translating for an audience, but at the same time the blog is an extension of myself and what I want to do. It's for you for the stories that don't get picked up by English scanlators right away, but it's also for me. And I hope to keep it that way. I'll promise to try though to make more often updates and eventually finish it. So, picking up from where I left off last time...</i><br />

Hokuto contrived to affect a grimace, but I urged him on our way to our private beach. Honestly there isn't any part of this island that isn't private, but according to the hotel, they cordon off a part of the beach especially for guests to designate it as private. When we arrived, there was no other person in sight, nothing but us walking among the sparkling white sands. Everywhere you looked there were only the endless skies and ocean, the boundary so hazy between the two you can lose yourself.<br />
<br />
"Isn't it a relief there's no one?" I laugh as I reach my hand out for his.<br />
<br />
"Are we really doing this? Holding hands while we walk along the beach?" Hokuto frowns.<br />
<br />
"You said you would do it, didn't you? Don't grumble about it now."<br />
<br />
I reach out once again, and he reluctantly takes my hand.<br />
<br />
"It's not like we're a love-struck couple in high school."<br />
<br />
"No matter how old you get, it's a girl's dream."<br />
<br />
"You're not a girl anymore," he jabs. I promptly kick him on the shin.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
"Shut up!"<br />
<br />
"That hurts!" he curses, and in that instant I take the chance to let go of his hand and run away.<br />
<br />
"Damnnit, wait up! You brute!" he yells as he sets a fast pace after me. Chasing each other on the beach is what you would see in romantic movies, although if I said something so cheesy, Hokuto would probably get irritated. Secretly enjoying the circumstance, I double-back to escape. Lightly and nimbly, as if we were dancing about on the sand.<br />
<br />
"I told you to wait up!"<br />
<br />
"No way!"<br />
<br />
I fling off my sand-covered mules and run barefoot towards the edge of the beach where the waves jump and lick at the edges of my capris. Since I'm going to get wet anyways, I turn around and kicked up the waves at him.<br />
<br />
"Why no you don't!"<br />
<br />
"Why not? You look good even when dripping with water," I joke, although there's more than enough truth in that. Hokuto's hair glistens as droplets of water reflect in the sunlight. He leans down and scoops up water with his hands to splash me. Shit. Hokuto grins lopsidedly after he drenches me.<br />
<br />
"You look pretty good yourself."<br />
<br />
"Meanie! Now all my new clothes are drenched!"<br />
<br />
"I'm only returning the favor."<br />
<br />
"You more than doubled the <i>favor.</i>"<br />
<br />
"If I'm taking revenge, I might as well do it in strides."<br />
<br />
That's right...Hokuto's that kind of guy.<br />
<br />
"Fine then I won't hold back either then."<br />
<br />
"When have you ever held back?"<br />
<br />
Our little tag game has become a water fight, and in no time at all, I was drenched from head to toe like an idiot. But it was refreshing to resort to such silliness. Although we were splashing each other equally, I came out the wetter of the two. He was able to scoop up more water with his bigger hands, and perhaps because he has better reflexes, he dodged most of my attacks as well.<br />
<br />
"You are ten years too young if you think you can defeat me."<br />
<br />
"Ah, but that's because you <i>are</i> older."<br />
<br />
"Oh shut up."<br />
<br />
As I try to dodge Hokuto's next attack, I slip on the receding sand that flowed away with the waves, preparing to break my stumble when Hokuto caught me.<br />
<br />
"T-thanks."<br />
<br />
Breathless, I look up at him. Hokuto's drenched to the bone, his shirt clinging to his upper body. Shit, I wonder if mine is too? I flusteredly peeled my cami tunic from my skin.<br />
<br />
"Too late now," Hokuto laughs. The water droplets drip down his glossy black hair and trace their way down his sculpted cheekbones and strong jaws, meandering down his sinuous neck before caressing his Adam's apple. Sharp desire courses through me. It's alright, there's no one here anyways. I reach up to kiss his thinner lips, which open in surprise.<br />
<br />
"...you taste like the beach," he says as his brows knit together.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nFwSvE0nUME/Ug2kUFgH4UI/AAAAAAAAAkA/Dgl59eDvINs/s1600/DSCN1399.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nFwSvE0nUME/Ug2kUFgH4UI/AAAAAAAAAkA/Dgl59eDvINs/s1600/DSCN1399.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
"Sheez, you're never in the moo-" I start to complain when he interrupts me with a kiss, a deeper one than I had instigated. His tongue entwines around mine as if wanting to taste my very essence. He watches me catch my breath after he releases me.<br />
<br />
"I didn't say I didn't like the taste of the beach," he smiles mirthlessly.<br />
<br />
"I...like it too."<br />
<br />
We exchange another kiss again, slightly tinged with the ocean's saltiness. I wish I could kiss in different flavors from now on too. With Hokuto. Again and again. As I daydream, I feel myself lifted into the air, my knees hooked on his arms....wait a minute, is he carrying me bridal style?<br />
<br />
"Wait, hey!" I envelop my arms around his neck in surprise as he looks down at me, eyes gleaming with mischief.<br />
<br />
"I wonder if I should just throw you into the ocean like this..."<br />
<br />
"D-don't do something stupid! What'll I do if a shark comes out?"<br />
<br />
"Shark? In these shallow waters?" he tries to hold in his laughter. Oh how I wish I could wipe that expression off him.<br />
<br />
"How do you know it won't? This isn't Japan after all."<br />
<br />
"Ah, that's right, maybe it will. Maybe Jaws will come out and swallow the chihuahua whole."<br />
<br />
"Don't make fun of me."<br />
<br />
"Shall we try it out? One, two, thre--"<br />
<br />
He's joking, right? As Hokuto starts to loosen his grip and waver, I thrash about.<br />
<br />
"Hey, you dummy..."<br />
<br />
"Kya!"<br />
<br />
Having lost his balance because of me, we both topple into the ocean.<br />
<br />
"....y-o-u"<br />
<br />
Muddied with sand and water, Hokuto glares at me although I'm the first to complain.<br />
<br />
"You're the one at fault, trying to throw your wife into the ocean."<br />
<br />
"I was only pretending."<br />
<br />
"Well I can never tell, since you hide your emotions beneath an iron mask."<br />
<br />
I let go of him and wash away the sand in the clear waters. How did a lovely walk along the beach turn out like this? I guess Hokuto just doesn't go into the same equation with romance.<br />
<br />
"<i>You </i>should get swallowed up by Jaws!"<br />
<br />
"I would rather die fighting a terrorist group."<br />
<br />
"Playing James Bond again?"<br />
<br />
"If anything, it's Jack Bauer!"<br />
<br />
"I don't think Jack Bauer frolics on the beach," I said, although the unbidden image causes me to laugh.<br />
<br />
"I don't either," Hokuto smiles too. "You're right," he says as if the thought just hit him.<br />
<br />
"About Jack Bauer?"<br />
<br />
"No, about being together."<br />
<br />
I took a moment to think and gave him a long look. He can't be talking about what I said at dinner yesterday, could he? About being together as the greatest luxury? Does he feel the same way? He, who has all the talent and financial power. If so...ah, then there's nothing that could describe greater happiness than being together with the person you love, and also having him feel the same way. If it's with Hokuto, I'll be happy doing anything. Unable to express my feelings in words, I take his hand in mine and squeeze tightly, a gesture he returns. We sit together on the sand, talking about nothing and everything and sharing kisses. In no time at all, our clothes dried under the strong rays of tropical sunlight and the crisp wind, and we were able to brush off the small pebbles of sand quite easily.<br />
<br />
"Shall we return then?" Hokuto stands and nonchalantly reaches a hand out.<br />
<br />
"Eh? Are you letting me hold your hands?"<br />
<br />
"You wanted to, right?"<br />
<br />
"Yes! Like lovers!" I quickly take his hand in mine, and interleave my fingers between his. Leaning against his shoulder, I told him, "Outside of James Bond or Jack Bauer, I think I prefer Hokuto the best."<br />

<a href="http://www1.e-hon.ne.jp/images/syoseki/ac_k/17/07306017.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www1.e-hon.ne.jp/images/syoseki/ac_k/17/07306017.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Ok...honestly I have no idea who the guy in the cover is...he doesn't look like Gin...or does he? Usually the covers of her past novels really only had the main characters on it (you don't see side characters slapped on the cover- and yes Gin qualifies as one because you don't really read much about him. I would say the brothers are quite underdeveloped as characters so far). Unless Sougo flipping dyed his hair, I think they need to redraw the cover. The story is going nowhere so far, which is why I'm still not purchasing any of it. I have a theory that Enjouji Maki is doing a one-shot in the monthly magazine because her Dear Brother series has been dragging. When she was at the height of her popularity with Hapi Mari, you never see her participate in drawing extra one-shot stories...not for the omake, not for anything really.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ErjeojVLIsI/Ug2TTTvzG7I/AAAAAAAAAjw/3nSITL3UOqM/s1600/Untitled.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ErjeojVLIsI/Ug2TTTvzG7I/AAAAAAAAAjw/3nSITL3UOqM/s1600/Untitled.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Summary of the one-shot:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Animals never really took a liking to pet groomer Azusa. But one day a large dog attaches to her, and the pet owner asks her to sit his dog?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm actually really looking forward to this issue, and will probably even buy it just for the one-shot. Will keep everyone posted when I actually get it!</div>

All the past ones I've read move quickly, and while they can be repetitive, never have they been as slow and boring as this one. If I weren't a fan of hers and there wasn't pretty art...I'm sure I may have dropped this long ago. Anyways...here goes! If you're interested in following along, click <a href="http://99manga.com/page/14879/138522.htm?v=1*s=12">here </a>for the scans!<br />
<br />
The four siblings are at home on a weekend, when Arimatsu (Sougo's coworker from last chapter) calls on them. Sougo is shocked to see him, and Arimatsu is in turn surprised when he sees the other two brothers poking out. It turns out that Arimatsu has come to visit because Sougo had promised to introduce him (as a dating figure) to Momo, but hasn't heard back from Sougo since last chapter.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-X9M44SkDn0c/UgXgIX-ic6I/AAAAAAAAAik/Q2jSZftZDnc/s1600/Untitled.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-X9M44SkDn0c/UgXgIX-ic6I/AAAAAAAAAik/Q2jSZftZDnc/s1600/Untitled.png" /></a></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Both Gin and Momo are flustered because they know not a thing about this, while Aoba stares at Arimatsu suspiciously. To avoid further confusion (and possible arguments), Momo volunteers to take Arimatsu out so they can discuss this personally. Momo explains that there's already someone that she likes, but Arimatsu counters that it's one-sided. He boldly asks whether spending time with him is such an unpleasant experience (the last time they had a movie date together). Momo doesn't feel it's unpleasant really.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: It's true that I haven't had any progress (with Sougo), but I don't want to use you as a replacement figure.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Arimatsu: That's alright, because I'm happy when I'm with you. Even if I have to act as a replacement.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Don't you think that's pitiful?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Arimatsu: Not at all. If we never even start, then anything between us would really end.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: But my feelings won't change.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Arimatsu: From your looks right now, I suppose you can't give up just yet.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: ...I'm very sorry.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Back home, Momo confronts Sougo about making such a decision for her, since he had clearly promised not to play matchmaker anymore.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F0XLDnOtTHU/UgXht4g8YHI/AAAAAAAAAi0/k1tbnbf39XQ/s1600/Untitled1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F0XLDnOtTHU/UgXht4g8YHI/AAAAAAAAAi0/k1tbnbf39XQ/s1600/Untitled1.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: I told you that there's already someone I like...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: I remember you saying that...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: If you remember then...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: I'm sorry I broke my promise. But Arimatsu really seemed like he was sincere, and he even went as far as to have me help him. That's why I think you should consider. If you can progress smoothly with the person you like, then you can dismiss him, but if not...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Naturally Momo is unhappy at being told this exactly by the person she loves, and so she erupts at Sougo.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Stop putting on high airs as an older brother!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: I'm only doing this for your own good!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: So am I supposed to listen to everything you say then because it's for my own good?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: That's not what I'm saying, idiot!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: You're always so stubborn!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gin tries to cut in, but fails ultimately.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Fine then, if so I won't see you as my younger sister anymore!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Good then! Then I won't have to be introduced to strangers anymore.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: FINE!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KlfkpLFh_9M/UgXjF7AndZI/AAAAAAAAAjE/cFUGAWvtozE/s1600/Untitled2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KlfkpLFh_9M/UgXjF7AndZI/AAAAAAAAAjE/cFUGAWvtozE/s1600/Untitled2.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Aoba sides with Momo because he doesn't like Arimatsu, and Momo in her distress blurts out that she hates Sougo. Once she gets to her room though, Momo panics having said something so childish as to "I hate you" to Sougo, even though she's said it many times to him as a kid. She also wishes that it were true, that Sougo wouldn't have to see her as a younger sister anymore.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gin seeks Sougo out, since Sougo and Momo haven't been speaking for a few days already. He asks Sougo why he didn't just tell Momo earlier about Arimatsu, to which Sougo answers he doesn't really know either.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: Perhaps Arimatsu is seeking out Momo's good points in his own way, which is why I thought handing Momo to him is a good decision. But whenever I see her face, I... There's no way we can change our point of view as her older brothers, and if Momo decides to build a family, we should all welcome it. In fact, it would lessen the burden on my shoulders. Then why am I...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gin: Sougo, you can't be possibly...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: But she shouldn't have said I was wrong!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gin was probably going to point out that Sougo may be feeling something other than brotherly feelings towards Momo, but the atmosphere is quickly broken when Sougo erupts in irritation. In the end, Gin offers that Sougo should just pipe down and let time pass without interrupting in her life playing the overbearing older brother role.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: But then, there's no reason for me to stay in this house anymore.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The next morning, Momo bumps into Sougo while he's still brushing his teeth in the bathroom. True to her word, she doesn't speak to him at all and flips her head in irritation. Sougo, though, runs his finger lightly through her hair and leaves in silence. Momo regrets saying such harsh things to him in anger, and even wonders whether she should be the first to make peace.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo however, packs his bags to leave, which causes Momo to run out after him.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Why..all of a sudden?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: It's not sudden, I've been thinking about it for a while before making the decision. Plus, I always seem to provoke you, and the more as I act as your older brother (for your interest), the worser the situation becomes. If I can't carry out my duties as your older brother, then I've lost my right to stay in the house.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo (laughingly): But it was only a little fight, you don't have to exaggerate it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo: I should have realized sooner. Thinking about it now, you even switched rooms for me, and I keep taking advantage of your good will thinking that I would be welcome in the house. I also kept pushing you to do things my way.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: No...I just...though I can't say it clearly...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo (turns away): Goodbye.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Wait! You're joking, right? I...It's my fault. I'll apologize. Sorry. So please...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Aoba: Sougo-niichan!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo (starts running): Wait for me! Hey! I told you to wait! Wait...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And she falls (again. Gosh, why do girls always have to fall while chasing someone? I've never in my life seen someone fall just because of that...sigh...typical Japanese plot devices.)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Naturally, Sougo turns around to see if she's alright.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo (cries): I was lying when I said I hated you because I love you the most! So please don't leave, please don't leave me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Sougo: There there, I got it. Grab onto me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Momo: Sougo-niichan, whatever you say from now, I'll do it, even if it means going out with Arimatsu.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gin: Sougo, you shouldn't have to make Momo go to this extent. Just come back and don't do it again.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Aoba: I oppose them going out.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gin: Aoba, be more mindful of the atmosphere.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Aoba: Because he looks like a bad person. I felt like he had some ulterior motive when I saw him watching Momo. Not even the bastard from last time had that look to him.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gin: Idiot, don't let your imagination run wild.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sougo picks her up and carries her back home, saying that she's an idiot for letting herself get hurt like this because of him. At that moment that Momo gazed up at him, she felt like he was almost happy when he said that. While Aoba helps Momo treats her wounds, Gin pulls Sougo aside and asks, "Do you know something?" We flash to a panel of a woman holding a baby Sougo (the photograph from last time that Momo picked up, but she had no recollection as to who that woman was).</div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Update on food blog! This time, it’s a continuation from my food adventures in LA~ Stepping into the restaurant really pulled me back into Hong Kong- the loud chatter, the cloth covered tables, the red carpets, the golden dragon and phoenix on the walls…damn, I really want to go back now.</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px; margin-bottom: 10px; outline: none 0px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The specialty of this place is that they always have seafood specials- this time it was having crab or lobster at $.99/lb…which is ridiculously cheap if you ask me. Our crab dish only came to $2 on the check! The food was delicious (except for one dish that really disappointed), and the restaurant is situated in a busy Chinese shopping center, so you can go grab dessert or boba afterwards. </span></div>

Super easy 5 ingredient Financier tea cake recipe~<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lutss9jBHpc/UfNZ4JvJGgI/AAAAAAAAAhw/EaB6IlvXZiA/s1600/filled+fixed.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="420" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lutss9jBHpc/UfNZ4JvJGgI/AAAAAAAAAhw/EaB6IlvXZiA/s640/filled+fixed.jpg" width="640" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xtQx7US-Fsw/UfNZ36coZdI/AAAAAAAAAhs/jTEKoZVw_kg/s1600/baked+fixed+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="420" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xtQx7US-Fsw/UfNZ36coZdI/AAAAAAAAAhs/jTEKoZVw_kg/s640/baked+fixed+2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px; margin-bottom: 10px; outline: none 0px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Whoever said all French desserts are complex is wrong. Sure, there are those beautiful pesky cookies known as macaron that will give even the most seasoned chefs a headache, and then there are those entremets that call for 5 different layers that will take you at least 2 days to make…but then, there are financiers, buttery, golden, moist, springy cakes that go well with everything, and only takes 5 ingredients! (Well, more if you add fruit and stuff like lemon zest)</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px; margin-bottom: 10px; outline: none 0px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I had a load of butter to get rid of and decided to make these to use all my ingredients up. This recipe uses brown butter, which is basically boiled down butter with the water solids removed (and when it’s done, it smells like caramel toffee!) They go well with tea, ice cream, clotted cream, and well…basically anything you can think of. But the best thing about them is that they’re super easy to make~ Just boil your butter until it gives off that sweet burnt toffee aroma, mix together all your ingredients, let it sit in the fridge for a while, and stuff them into the oven.</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px; outline: none 0px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">If you google them, you would most likely see them in rectangular ingot like shapes, but I didn’t have those molds. Technically, you can fill muffin molds with it too, I just used tart molds (though I’m definitely going to purchase some rectangle ones soon). <span style="font-family: inherit;">New blog post! This time it’s on a ramen place I visited while in LA. Although it was alright (though it verged on the salty side…I must have visited on a bad day), it didn’t really let me relive my experience in Japan…it doesn’t even really compare to those ramen shops where the counter is wood bare, and you order through the machine and punch in all the options you want before handing it to the cook. Must really look for a legit place to write about.</span></div>
